Hey there! My name is Marli Paes and I own and operate Marli's Cleaning. The idea to start a business here in the Boston area started when all of my friends and family walked into my home and couldn't stop mentioning about my ever so clean home, everytime they went over. Since a young girl, I've always had a nice cleaning hand. Ask these questions to your next house cleaner:
- How long have you been cleaning? This is so important. Some inexperienced cleaners can destroy your expensive floors and furniture if they don't know what they are doing. We've heard beginners tell us horror stories along the years.
- Do you have at least 3 solid references that you can provide me? When checking the references, ask specific questions. Don't simply say: "tell me about so and so". If the references are not real, they will not know how to answer or will be very hesitant.
- What type of cleaning products do you use? Ask a house cleaner what do they use on floors, furniture, bathroom surfaces. If they don't know the right answers, you may be hiring a trouble.
- Do you have a cell that I can reach you in case I need to talk to you right away? Most house cleaners will not give their cell phones to clients. Why? They don't want to be bothered. The only phone they will give you is a home/office number. Probably you will only be able to talk to them during the evening, if so. We are not like that. Communication is very important to us and our clients will have at least two mobile numbers available to contact us at all times.

  Other house cleaners carry their vacuums with them at all times. But it's recommended that a HEPA filter vacuum is used in your home. When I use my HEPA filter vacuum to clean homes, I educate my clients on the importance of their vacuum being a HEPA filter vacuum aswell.
 
  I give them reasons why they should have their own vacuum to use only in their home. Why? Imagine what the cleaner's vacuum goes through throughout many different homes with her, and how many different types of ambients it goes faces before it goes into your home.
 
  Do you want a vacuum that was used in some really dirty houses used in your house? I know you'd rather have your own to prevent that other people's home dust doesn't go into yours. Keep your home as germ free as possible by eliminating unwanted things.
 
  Let's turn that cloudy and heavy air that rises from traditional vacuums into the crisp and clean air you've always wished for.

  Not only does the whole "other people's dirt" thing apply to the vacuums, as it does to any cleaning material the cleaning lady uses. Rags are another big deal because the cleaning lady may be using the rag to clean up other things aside from dirt.
 
  Picture that cleaning that she's doing for someone who's moving out. In that empty home, you may come across excess dirt and dust, pet "accidents", or a place where has not been used for living purposes, maybe a home office or something.
 
  She carries her materials to those types of cleanings because she won't be going there anymore so there's no point in the customer buying materials for a regular cleaning job.
 
  That way, when customers don't have their own supplies, the cleaning lady has no other choice but to use what she has and all those particles of ANYTHING get trapped into the rag, which is used to wipe your home. They may tell you it's a clean rag, but often times, it really isn't.
