This is the Fender USA '64 Princeton Reverb. Serial #: Axxxx1. The Fender Amplifier is a staple of the guitar world and has been for over a half century. On every album and any stage, you'll see the Fender name in the backline. The reason is simple- tone. This '64 Princeton is an absolute tone machine. 12 watts and all tube make for a versatile amplifier. Dual 6V6 tubes bring the power while a xxxx, (2) 12ax7's, and a 12at7 make up the preamp section. Up to 3 on the volume control brings you those famous Fender cleans- from glassy to warm. Past 4, you start to get natural tube overdrive. The overdrive tones here are unbelivable. Amazing tight crunch. As you move forward in the volume sweep, you engage great tube sustain. If you leave the amp at '5', you can control the amp tone with your volume control. Turn it down and the amp cleans up nicely, turn it up for overdrive tones- very responsive. The onboard true spring reverb adds nice tails to leads and adds depth to rhythm work. Of course, this Princeton also has that great tremolo onboard. This enables you to authentically recreate classic 60's sounds. Beautiful. All of this gorgeous tone runs to the onboard Jensen 10" speaker. This Fender Princeton is in excellent condition for its age and works as it should. The transformers have been replaced at some point. The Axiom transformers here are known for their ability to retain the vintage tone yet open it up a little more allowing every nuance to shine through.
