The Boston office seeks a highly motivated Structural/Bridge Engineer with 8:10 years of experience to join our established transportation practice. This individual will work closely with other teams on multi:disciplinary projects, including bridge, roadway, traffic, rail, site, and public transit. It is expected that this person will function as a lead technical design engineer or project manager, will work independently, and will supervise work of less experienced engineers. TranSystems offers the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects in a unique and dynamic work environment. This candidate will be responsible for successful performance of structural design/analysis of bridges along with the preparation of construction documents, project specifications, and quantity/cost estimates.
Basic Qualifications:
: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4:yr accredited college or university.
: Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
: Minimum of 8 years of related bridge design experience
: Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), and experience with engineering design packages such as AutoCAD (required), MicroStation (desirable), Staad.Pro, MathCAD, LUSAS and/or other structural analysis software systems.
: No relocation assistance provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
: Masters degree (MCE / MSCE) in Structural Engineering
: Strong background in the design of bridges for MassDOT and other local transportation agencies
: Familiarity with structural/bridge design process through application of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and MassDOT Bridge Manual code requirements.
: Design:Build experience is a plus

Prepares or preferably directs the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules and designs for difficult projects.
: Receives instructions from Senior Project Managers as to the general results expected.

Reviews project design for general compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
: Responsible for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow:through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
