Unique intellectual property, such as behavioral-science principles, artificial intelligence driven scripting engines and risk decision models are used to reduce performance variability and improve compliance and overall performance for Altisource and its clients. Opportunity: The position reports directly to the Senior Counsel, Technology Services and Intellectual Property for Altisource, and will have exposure to a wide variety of management level employees throughout the Company to include Senior Management. Responsibilities will include: * Draft and prosecute patent applications covering Altisource technology * Work with technology teams to identify new patentable subject matter, organizing brainstorming sessions as needed * Conduct patent clearance searches and develop strategies for addressing any IP threats * Assist with prosecution and enforcement of trademark portfolio, including reviewing trademark office action responses, drafting cease and desist letters and resolving domain name disputes * Review and negotiate technology licenses, information technology agreements and confidentiality agreements * Perform intellectual property due diligence in support of corporate mergers and acquisitions Qualifications: This position requires a minimum of three to five years of legal practice in the intellectual property field, preferably in the software industry. JD from a nationally recognized law school required.
