TranSystems Boston office seeks a highly motivated individual who is looking for career growth opportunities to help lead our Highway Design Practice within the Civil Engineering Division. We are seeking a candidate with 10+ years of experience with a focus on Highway/Roadway design and a strong understanding of MassDOT procedures and standards. This individual will be called on to work with our office leadership to help identify and secure new work with the relevant agencies. This individual may also be called on to work closely with other teams throughout the country on large scale design projects. This position provides an opportunity to take on a key leadership role in our dynamic and growing office and to work with a talented and highly motivated group of designers and planners.
Summary:
: Designs and directs components of highway/roadway projects.
: Ability to coordinate with multidiscipline plus private and public agencies.

Basic Qualifications:
: Bachelors degree in Civil/Rail engineering field.
: Minimum of 10 years of civil and highway design experience.
: AutoCAD/Civil 3D; Microsoft Office,: .
: Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer in Massachusetts is required.
: Knowledge of AASHTO Green Book and Massachusetts Project Development and Design Guide
Preferred Qualifications:
: MicroStation/GeoPak and/or InRoads
: Masters Degree is Civil/Transportation Engineering is a plus
General Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
: Responsible for overall supervision and quality of those projects which are assigned to their team.
: Assures that the project conforms to the contractual agreement the firm has made to the client.
: Assures that the project is completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned.
: Controls project plan by approving design, specifications, plans, and schedules changes.
: Responsible for client satisfaction.
: Assist the Division Leader and Area Manager in the implementation of the marketing plan and business development goals established for the office.
: Serves as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes for an assigned area of responsibility.
: Keeps abreast of new scientific methods and developments affecting the organization for the purposes of recommending changes in emphasis of programs or new programs warranted by such developments.
: Provide team leadership. Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of a staff of engineers and technicians.
: Responsible for finding work for team members in order for team to meet utilization goals.
: Evaluates progress of the staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall objectives.
