Regional Sales Manager in Boston, Massachusetts For Sale

Participate in sales strategy sessions that result in a greater understanding of the food industry, customer demographics and new retail and industrial sales channels. Responsible for identifying and closing sales within new distribution channels in a designated customer territories. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers that result in the growth of Champion Foods business products. Perform a liaison role with food brokers, industrial markets and private label customers that insure an excellent service reputation. Represent Champion Foods at professional networking opportunities and trade shows. This position handles sensitive and confidential customer and pricing data and acts with autonomy and discretion. Essential Job Functions: Develop and implement short and long-term marketing strategies to achieve sales and profit objectives that meet or surpass corporate goals and are consistent with corporate sales philosophies. Develop 2-year budgetary plans that include customer specific marketing plans, promotional programs and annual sales plans. Include tactical programs, actions and expected results to achieve sales goals. Build and maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities that support existing sales targets. Coordinate resources to close complex sales campaigns, utilizing the support of marketing, sales support, food brokers, accounting or other internal resources. Develop and deliver customer presentations on all Champion products and opportunities. Work with marketing to generate sales leads. Respond in a timely manner to all sales leads generated through marketing and promotional activities. Manage the sales broker, vendor and co-pack relationship to insure conformance to contracts and customer satisfaction. Develop and present to management quarterly customer sales plans. Analyze industry data and best practice for customer and sales trends. Provide recommendations to management team. Travel and represent Champion Foods at trade shows and professional organizations. Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management or a related field. MBA or post-graduate experience a plus. Minimum five (5) years in a progressively complex sales role that includes experience with marketing, selling and closing sales, innovative promotional tactics, and business to business sales experience. Demonstrated experience with customer development and execution and in-depth knowledge of independent distributors and major retailers, preferably in the food industry. Proven success with prospecting and building a sales pipeline and closing deals with major retailers and industrial markets. Evidence of successfully defining, developing and launching new products or existing products into new markets. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to a wide variety of audiences and evidence of ability to influence outcomes. Demonstrated ability to build and retain retail, broker, co-packaging and other sales or distributor relationships. Evidence of highly developed computer expertise, including Microsoft Office, database and Internet proficiency. Ability to travel 40-50% of the time and adhere to corporate travel policies.
