The Boston office seeks a highly motivated Senior Bridge Design Engineer with 10:15 years of experience to join our established transportation practice. We are seeking an individual who can carry out and lead the design of our bridge projects while also providing day:to:day leadership and technical expertise. One of the most important responsibilities of the individual will be oversight of the technical design and quality review for our bridge design projects along with training, directing and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Basic Qualifications:
: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4:yr accredited college or university.
: Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
: Minimum of 10 years of related bridge design experience
: Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), and experience with engineering design packages such as AutoCAD (required), MicroStation (desirable), Staad.Pro, MathCAD, LUSAS and/or other structural analysis software systems.
: No relocation assistance provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
: Masters degree (MCE / MSCE) in Structural Engineering
: Strong background in the design of bridges for MassDOT and other local transportation agencies
: Familiarity with structural/bridge design process through application of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and MassDOT Bridge Manual code requirements.
: Design:Build experience is a plus

Senior Bridge Design Engineers General Duties and Responsibilities will include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Directs the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules and designs for difficult projects.
2 Receives instructions from Senior Project Managers as to the general results expected.
3. Reviews project design for general compliance with engineering principles, client and company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications.
4. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
5. Responsible for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow:through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
6. Shows understanding of team management, develops project scope of work, estimating manpower needs and tracks project progress.
7. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
