Responsibilities
Verizon is operating several production level Apache Mesos clusters. Come develop large scale, highly available distributed applications. Apply “big data” technology to the Internet of Things (IoT) domain to process and act on large volumes of data. Build highly automated applications. Work with open source technology and communities as active contributors. Deploy large-scale applications to tier-1 data centers.
Strong passion for building new, scalable, robust, software
Design and develop features for deployment in commercial Mesos clusters
Leverage Spark, Spark Streaming, SparkSQL and similar technologies for real-time data processing
Work with open source communities to commit code, review code, drive enhancements
Work with data center teams on testing and deployment
Qualifications
Proficient in one or more of: Go, Scala, Java
Experience with Apache Spark Spark SQL, Spark Streaming
Experience with Apache Mesos; Marathon; Chronos
Experience with Linux Containers (LXC) and Docker
Experience with Zookeeper; Etcd
Experience developing REST based web services
Experience using Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Test Automation
Tools Experience: debuggers, scripting, Git, cross compilers
Ability to provide technical leadership
Ability to work with remote teams
